The book took form on the basis of the answers given by the author to his old friend and a genius scholar Sardari Lal Parashar, the founder Principal of Simla School of Art, during their long walks at Shimla. Shri Parashar frankly confessed that it was for the first time that he had listened to such an exposition of Sikhism with a mind completely free from scepticism. Thus this work has become a classic work on the genesis and unique character of the order of the Khalsa with an exposition of the Sikh tenets.
