1984 was a turning point in the Sikh history of 20th century. The invasion and attack by Indian army in June 1984 on Darbar Sahib Amritsar along with Akal Takht Sahib and more than 65 Gurdwaras in Punjab and adjoining states marks the biggening of third Ghallughara (holocaust) of Sikh history. It was followed by 1984 Sikh genocide in the month of November Sikhs were subjected to genocidal massacres across India.
